a CIELO APERTO #1

2014
site specific 7 channels installation + plastic strings on walls
variable dimensions

A Cielo Aperto is an immersive site- specific installation based on maps of controlled airspace delineating, among other restricted and prohibited sites, the flight corridors used by military drones. The installation consists of wall projections of a single still image, a photograph of the sky and of a network of strings that cut through the space above the viewer’s head and cast shadows onto the walls.

A Cielo Aperto #1 is  the first installation of an ongoing project. It is based on a Low Flying Chart of the sky above Sicily, Italy
